Manager quality - Chennai

The candidate should be a Diploma or Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from any reputed Institute / University. The candidate should have 12 to 15 years (Diploma holders) 7 to 10 years (Graduates) experience in the Quality Department of any Process / Heavy Engineering / Tubular parts or sheet Metal manufacturing industry .The candidates should be conversant in reading Engineering drawings and should be able to lead a team of quality control inspectors Involved in inspection of components at both Vendor's site as well as Factory sites. Exposure to product knowledge on Metal Tubing�s, Sheet Metal Components & fabrication components is essential and knowledge in the area of galvanization & painting technology is preferable. He should have the capability to prepare technical specifications, inspection reports and should have knowledge of TS16949 ISO / TQM systems and procedures. Master's Degree in Business Administration is preferable but not essential.

The candidate should have 08 to 15 years experience in heavy / medium size engineering industry involved in the manufacture of Tubular components and Sheet Metal Components. He should be conversant with Operations related functions such as Manufacturing Assembly, Quality, Project, Operations and Maintenance activities. He should be able to handle Contractors and Vendors for the Timely complexion of Project and assembly operations with exposures to TS16949, TQM systems and procedures. He should be a hard core technical person and should be able to coordinate with Marketing, Finance and Materials departments to achieve Management targets.

Our international client, a leading provider of professional services to the energy, resources and complex processes industries has the following requirement of their OMAN Office.

Role: To manage and engineer multi-discipline projects from front end, detail design , construction, commissioning, hand-over and close-out, within schedule and cost to an acceptable quality. He/she shall report directly to the Project Manager.

Qualification : Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (B.Sc./M.Sc./B.Eng.) and membership of internationally accepted applicable professional Institute.

Experience

Senior Project Engineer : minimum of 12 years experience in design, specification, construction and general project engineering of oil and gas facilities, with a sound knowledge (min. 5 years experience) of project cost control / planning, systems. Project Engineer: minimum of 8 years experience in design, specification, construction and general project engineering of oil and gas facilities, with a sound knowledge (min. 3 years experience) of project cost control / planning, systems.

General

Senior Project Engineer - shall have worked as a single-point responsible project engineer for several medium sized oil/gas projects (>50 MM$) or managing multiple smaller projects concurrently. Shall have proven capabilities in managing and motivating all disciplines to deliver projects.

Project Engineer - shall have worked as a single-point responsible project engineer for a medium size oil/gas project (>50 MM$) or managing multiple smaller projects concurrently. Shall have proven capabilities in managing and motivating all disciplines to deliver projects.

Principal Accountabilities

Single point responsible for the efficient execution of assigned projects to deliver within schedule, cost and at an acceptable quality.Develop scope of work handed over by the Company project engineer for each project to achieve the specified deliverables. Develop cost and schedule control estimates and project key control documentation. Responsible for management of all project reporting, interface definition, interface management, liaison with Company project engineers, maintain and control project variance logs, project audit reports, managing close-out of audit action items, early highlight and resolution of project issues. Exercising control over manpower and material resources in order to execute the project within budget, schedule, quality and HSE requirements.
